Cop wanted for beating up businessman

MANILA, Philippines - A police officer is wanted for allegedly barging into a businessman’s house in Caloocan City and beating him up at past midnight Saturday.

Charges of attempted homicide have been filed against Police Officer 3 Anthony Cruz, who has not reported to the Barugo police station since the incident.

Jerome Juagan, 35, told investigators that Cruz entered his house at around 1 a.m. and started by pistol-whipping him. Cruz then reportedly beat him until he was lying on the floor, Juagan said.

Investigators have yet to determine why Cruz beat up Juagan.
