AWOL cop, 3 others caught using shabu

MANILA, Philippines - A police officer who has been absent without official leave (AWOL) was arrested with three others as they were reportedly using shabu in Malabon City Saturday morning.

Police Officer 1 Allan de Guzman; Romma Villanueva, 22; and Bernie Ulit were apprehended in the house of Leonides Mendoza in Barangay Niugan shortly before 1 a.m.

Four plastic sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the four suspects.

Investigators said De Guzman is assigned to Camp Bagong Diwa and had been AWOL since 2011.
