Marikina mayor’s wife passes away

 MANILA, Philippines - Marikina City Mayor Del de Guzman’s wife passed away Wednesday. She was 46.

Amalia Gonzaga de Guzman died at the Medical City at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, said Paul Edward Sison, Marikina City’s public information officer.

Sison did not reveal the cause of Amalia’s death, but said the mayor had mentioned in the past that his wife had a lymphoma.

Amalia is survived by her husband and their four children. Her remains lie in state at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City.
