2 teens caught with weapons outside church

MANILA, Philippines - Two boys, aged 13 and 17, were caught carrying an icepick and a knife as they stood outside the San Roque Cathedral in Caloocan City before dawn Monday.

Police officers and barangay tanods apprehended the teenagers near the cathedral, which was holding a dawn mass, at around 5 a.m. after receiving a tip that the boys were armed, Police Community Precinct 2 chief Senior Police Officer 2 Alberto Dimazana said in a report.

The two boys, who live several blocks from the cathedral, were turned over to the city’s social welfare department.
