Aquino approves promotion of 14 PNP officials

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has approved the promotion of 14 senior officials holding key positions in the police force.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima, who inducted the newly promoted officials during a simple ceremony in Camp Crame yesterday, said the officials were from the PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff and other PNP units. 

Promoted to the rank of three-star general were police Deputy Director General Ager Ontog, the PNP deputy chief for operations (TDCO); and Deputy Director General Felipe Rojas, the PNP chief of directorial staff (TCDS).

The newly promoted two-star generals were Director Gil Hitosis of the Directorate for Research and Development (DRD); Director Alex Paul Monteagudo of the Directorate for Operations (DO); and Director Napoleon Estilles, chief of the Director for Plans (DPL).

He said the newly promoted one-star generals were Chief Superintendents Lyndel Desquitado of the Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Police Regional Office 10; Jose Ernesto Fernandez Jr. executive officer of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Northern Luzon (DIPO-NL); Virgil Bombita of the Police Retirement and Benefits Service (PRBS).

Other one-star generals were Chief Superintendents Roberto Soriano of the Cordillera police; Dennis Peña of the National Capital Region Police Office; and Louie Oppus of the DIPO-Visayas.
