Caloocan building's occupants get bomb scare

MANILA, Philippines - The occupants of a 10-story building on EDSA in Monumento, Caloocan were evacuated yesterday after a caller claimed a bomb was about to go off in the building.

Senior Inspector Avelino Protacio, city Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit chief, said he and and his men proceeded to the Big Orange Building on EDSA to verify a report they received from a male caller at around 2:15 p.m. yesterday.

He said the building houses several firms, including a local employment agency and a fastfood outlet.

At presstime, the bomb squad is still searching the building.
