Bodies found in Pasig River
MANILA, Philippines - Two bodies were found floating in separate sections of the Pasig River, authorities said yesterday.
The remains of a 16-year-old boy who went missing Wednesday was fished out from the waters near the Sta. Ana ferry station a few minutes before midnight Friday.
Petty Officer 3 Hart Twingan of the Philippine Coast Guard was inspecting some vessels when he noticed Mike Fernan Arago’s body floating near Jones Bridge.
Arago’s father said his son played basketball Wednesday afternoon and had gone for a swim in the river when he disappeared.
Meanwhile, a scavenger found the decomposing remains of a man floating near Plaza Mexico. The body was clad in blue underwear and had a tattoo of the number “1993” on his right upper arm.
