SPD takes over Makati blast probe

MANILA, Philippines - The Southern Police District (SPD) has formed a task force to investigate an explosion that happened at a vacant lot along H.V. de la Costa street in Makati City’s central business district Monday afternoon.

Acting city police chief Superintendent Jaime Santos said the task force was formed at midnight yesterday after a lengthy case conference about the incident. The probe panel will be headed by Senior Superintendent Federico Castro Jr., SPD deputy district director for operations.
