Cop nabbed for indiscriminate firing

A member of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) was arrested by Malabon police for reportedly firing his service firearm during an altercation with neighbors before dawn yesterday.

PO1 Joinald Caperal, a member of the NCRPO’s Regional Special Action Unit (RSAU) based in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City was detained for reportedly firing his gun four times in a confrontation with neighbors Patricio Cruz and Marcelino Victorio in Barangay Tugatog.

Caperal accused Cruz, Victorio and Ali Victorio of beating him up last Sept. 26.

Cruz and Victorio said Caperal and his father, Jose, and brother Restituto, threatened to kill them and all their relatives. – Jerry Botial
