Concert to benefit typhoon victims tonight

A benefit concert will be held tonight at the Acropolis Clubhouse in Libis, Quezon City for the benefit of typhoon victims in Alaminos, Pangasinan.

The proceeds of the show, which will start at 7 p.m., will go directly to the city government for the rehabilitation of 34 public schools and other infrastructure, as well as agricultural and tourism structures, destroyed by typhoon Cosme last month. The damage was estimated at P238 million.

“The city needs to raise some amount and start the repair. The children and other victims of typhoon Cosme, are in need of our help. Our mission is to help and make a difference,” said HI-TREC and Alaminos 100, a non-government organization devoted to people empowerment and looking after the tourism of the Hundred Islands National Park.

Former President Fidel Ramos, Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri and Francis Escudero, RCBC chairman Amb. Alfonso Yuchengco, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. chairman Manny Pangilinan, Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes, Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., Philippine National Police chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr., Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, former Philippine National Police chief Arturo Lumibao, Secretary to the Cabinet Silvestre Bello III, and Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri will grace the affair.

Alaminos Mayor Hernani Braganza expressed gratitude for the support of the two organizations whose members organized the concert.

Tickets are available at P2,000, P5,000, P10,000 or P15,000 per person.
