Condo slay baffles cops

-
Police were at a loss yesterday as to the motive behind the killing of a 25-year-old freelance television advertisement producer who was found dead last Sunday afternoon inside his condominium unit in Makati City.

PO2 Rafael Castillo said the victim, identified as Jonathan Hernandez, was found in a pool of his own blood at around 1:40 p.m. in the living room of Unit 2727 of the Pasong Tamo Tower on Don Chino Roces Avenue.

The victim’s body was discovered by a friend, Gayle Concepcion, who became suspicious after Hernandez failed to respond to her phone calls, police said.

Crime scene investigators said the victim, clad in boxer shorts and a shirt when found, had at least eight stab wounds in different parts of the body.

Police said the victim’s silver gray Honda Civic (TLL-469) was also missing from the condominium’s parking area. They have issued an alarm to anti-car theft units.

Security officers of the condominium told probers they last saw Hernandez with his friends as they went inside the condo.

Police also discovered empty bottles of beer at the terrace of the unit. The knife used in the killing has not been recovered.
