Boy kills self after lovers’ quarrel

Following a bitter quarrel with his girlfriend, a 19-year-old student committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth in his house in Tondo, Manila, Thursday night.

The suicide was identified by the Western Police District as Paul Singian, of 32 Vargas St., Tondo, Manila.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim and some of his classmates arrived drunk at the victim’s house at about 8:45 p.m.

Police said the group, shortly after arriving, had another round of drinks. This reportedly got the ire of the victim’s girlfriend, a certain Rachel, who confronted the victim after his guests left.

According to police, the victim and his girlfriend then started to quarrel and almost came to blows. Relatives of the victim soon intervened and broke off the fight.

Police said the victim was later seen entering his mother’s room where he locked himself in. Shortly later, a gunshot was heard.

When they forced open the door, they were shocked to find the victim on the floor with a caliber .38 revolver in his mouth. The case is still under investigation. – Mike Frialde
