Councilor proposes vehicle impounding area near plaza

CEBU, Philippines - Councilor Danilo Caballero had proposed that the vacant lot near the Plaza Talisay will be used as the city's official impounding area with a fixed daily rate for every vehicle kept here. 

Caballero said he noticed that the vacant lots inside the compound of the City Hall were already used as impounding area, thus it would be better to make this official for the purpose.

"Based on reports, it has been known not only to the City Hall employees but also to the visiting public that a portion of the vacant lot near the Plaza Talisay has been used likely as impounding area," Caballero said in his proposed resolution.

Caballero thus said the executive department should be assisted by formally allocating this vacant area for legal and reasonable purpose.

"It is necessary to support such a good act with appropriateness through enacting an ordinance designating such space as an official impounding area and fixing the rate per day of each vehicle that stays at the said area, as may be allowed by existing laws," he added. —/RAE (FREEMAN)
