Hydrocephalic girl abandoned at cop’s house

CEBU, Philippines - It’s been a month now since a woman abandoned her 4-year-old daughter who is suffering from hydrocephalus at the house of a policeman in sitio Hawod, barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

SPO2 Nestor Canlobo, assigned in Talisay City Police Station, said the 29-year-old mother of the child is a drug addict.

He said his younger brother and the woman are friends and that the woman and her daughter often spent time at the house, he said.

Canlobo said the woman has five children.

Aside from abandoning the 4-year-old, the woman had also allegedly sold some of them to acquaintances, he said.

Canlobo said his family is now finding it difficult to care for the child and they have no clue as to the mother’s whereabouts, he said.

Yesterday Canlobo sought assistance from the city social welfare. (FREEMAN)
