Gunners complete 4-0 sweep

CEBU, Philippines — The Gunners downed Blitz, 67-59, to complete a four-game elimination round sweep in the D’Generals Basketball Club Season 4:Camaraderie Cup at the Aulga Citi Sports in Barangay Lawaan II, Talisay City.

Andrei Reyes sizzled with 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists while Nathaniel Gudito added 16 points, three rebounds and three assists as the Gunners advanced to the quarterfinals undefeated.

The Mix Hoopers, on the other hand, pulled off a thrilling 79-77 victory over the Vipers, ending their campaign in the classification stage with a 3-1 win-loss card.

Ruben Laraga paced the Mix Hoopers with 17 points, three rebounds and five assists followed by William Barbosa with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Brotherhood and Rise Up also marched into the last eight with 2-2 and 1-3 records, respectively.

John Carl Zerna bagged 18 points with five rebounds and four assists while Jayra Intes cashed in 16 points, five rebounds and three assists to power Brotherhood to a 94-75 thrashing of Go Hard.

Felix Ehpan and Kevin Gorro combined for 37 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists to lift Rise Up to a 79-78 cliffhanger over the Iron Bull. – EBV
