Nuvali achieves sustainability milestone

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Ayala Land Inc. (ALI)’s Nuvali Estate has reinforced its role as a pioneer in sustainable, master-planned urban development by becoming the country’s first commercial business district to be recognized under the Berde Districts.

ALI said Lakeside and East Bloc earned Berde 5-Stars Certification under Berde Districts Version 1.0.0 for Stage 1 and Stage 2 from the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC).

The recognition marks the first time districts within an ALI estate have received the coveted Berde 5-Stars certification.

“Receiving the Berde 5-Stars Certification under Berde Districts for both Lakeside and East Bloc reflects our commitment to building sustainable and future-ready communities that create long-term value for residents, businesses and stakeholders,” Ayala Land Estates Inc. senior project development manager Gilbert Ramos said.

Berde or Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence is the country’s leading green building certification system that assesses developments based on environmental performance beyond existing laws and mandatory green standards.

PHILGBC said that achieving Berde certifications for Nuvali, Lakeside Evozone and East Bloc projects demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Both districts were recognized for integrating environmentally responsive planning strategies, including walkability, green open spaces, sustainable land use, mobility connectivity, water management systems and resilient infrastructure.

The Lakeside District serves as Nuvali’s leisure and lifestyle destination, anchored by open spaces, recreational amenities, retail offerings and its signature lakeside environment.

ALI said a major redevelopment of the district is underway, including a new connection to Ayala Malls Nuvali to create a more seamless lifestyle and leisure experience within the estate.

The project is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of the year.

East Bloc, meanwhile, continues to emerge as a business and commercial hub envisioned to support commerce, mobility and modern urban living.
