Amihan season ending soon; hotter days ahead
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is expecting the amihan or cold season to end soon, which means sunnier and hotter days ahead for the entire archipelago.
With the northeast monsoon winding down, hot and humid weather is forecast to begin this March with no typhoon or low pressure area (LPA) in sight, at least for the next days.
PAGASA, in its weather report yesterday, said the amihan season is on its final stretch though its cold breeze still affects a large part of Luzon.
In the next three days, state weather experts expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of light rains in northern and eastern portions of Luzon.
Metro Manila will be sunnier with temperatures ranging from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius while Baguio City will still be cooler at 15 to 24 degrees.
PAGASA said the dry season usually begins in March where everyone is advised to keep hydrated and still bring umbrellas to shield themselves from the heat of the sun.
From Monday to Wednesday, the state weather bureau forecasts fair weather conditions in Visayas and Mindanao with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
