Hot, humid election day – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies – warm and humid air coming from the Pacific Ocean – will bring hot and humid weather to the entire country today as millions of Filipinos flock to polling precincts to vote.
With no low-pressure area or typhoon in sight for the next three days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said it will be a hot and sunny election day.
Though there are chances of isolated rain showers, hot and humid weather will mean temperatures ranging from 23 to 35 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila.
Only the areas of the Caraga and Davao regions are forecast to be cloudy with some rains because of an intertropical convergence zone.
Baguio City will still be cooler at 16 to 25 degrees, but Metro Cebu will sizzle at 26 to 33 while Metro Davao is expected to have temperatures ranging from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
PAGASA had earlier advised voters to take the necessary precautions by bringing umbrellas that will help shield them from the hot sun, and drinking water to keep their bodies hydrated.
