MANILA, Philippines — Three listed Philippine companies Jollibee Foods Corp., Ayala Corp. and Aboitiz Equity Ventures made it to the Forbes list of the World’s Best Employers composed of 750 companies around the world.

JFC ranked 256th, while Ayala was at 487th place and AEV in 665th spot. All are multinational companies with presence in and outside the Philippines.

JFC is the listed food conglomerate founded by Tony Tan Caktiong while Ayala is the country’s oldest conglomerate led by Fernando Zobel de Ayala as president and CEO.

According to Forbes, it partnered with market research company Statista to compile the ranking by surveying 150,000 full-time and part-time workers from 58 countries working for
multinational companies and institutions.

Statista asked participants to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Aside from this, they were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out positively or negatively.

The list is composed of 750 companies that received the highest scores.

“All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. They were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.

“Furthermore, participants were asked to rate the companies on aspects such as image, economic footprint, talent development, gender equality and social responsibility,” Forbes said in a recently published report.

JFC has roughly 11,808 employees, according to the Forbes article. At present, JFC operates in 34 countries, with over 5,800 stores globally. Outside the Philippines, JFC is in the United States, Canada, People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Panama, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and India.

Ayala, meanwhile, has 60,000 employees. It is into banking, telecommunications, property, water, infrastructure, power generation, automotive, IT/BPO and health care, among others.

The Aboitiz Group is the Cebu-based conglomerate of the Aboitiz clan. It has 37,188 employees, according to Forbes, and is into the power, food, financial services, real estate and infrastructure businesses.
