COVID-19 cases in the Philippines hit 1.29M after DOH logs 7,485 new infections

MANILA, Philippines — Local health authorities on Thursday reported 7,485 more COVID-19 infections, bringing the national caseload to 1,293,687.

  • One million doses of the coronavirus vaccine made by Sinovac Biotech arrived in the Philippines, with another shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech jabs expected to be delivered within the day.

  • The overall supply of vaccines in the country is expected to “normalize” starting June 14, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., also vaccine czar, said on Wednesday.
