Magnitude 6.1 quake jolts Mindanao
MINDANAO, Philippines — A magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocked parts of Mindanao on Thursday night.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned the public of damage and aftershocks due to the quake, which struck 44 kilometers southwest of Glan, Sarangani at about 11:38 p.m.
The temblor was felt at Intensity 5, which is classified as strong, in Glan, Maasim, Alabel, Kiamba and Malapatan in Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato; General Santos City, and Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4 or moderately strong in Jose Abad Santos, Malita and Sarangani in Davao Occidental, Koronadal City, Polomolok and Tampakan in South Cotabato and Intensity 3 in Davao City, Maco and Mawab, Davao de Oro; Digos City and Cotabato City. It was felt at Intensity 2 in Zamboanga City
