Villar family donates disinfecting devices, masks, water
MANILA, Philippines — The Villar family has donated the first batch of disinfecting devices to nine government hospitals in Metro Manila as well as 200,000 face masks and a daily supply of bottled drinking water to the government through the Department of Health to help combat the coronavirus.
“In response to the escalating number of Filipinos affected by COVID-19, we are doing our part to support the efforts of the government to stop the transmission of the coronavirus,” businessman and former senator Manny Villar said.
“The disinfecting apparatus will help ensure the safety of our government hospitals, the medical frontliners as well as everyone in the vicinity of the hospitals; likewise, the face masks and drinking water are much needed by the medical personnel, police officers, soldiers as well as personnel from Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority as they implement the enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon,” he added.
The first batch of disinfecting devices will be distributed to the government hospitals in Metro Manila, such as the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, San Lazaro Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, Sta. Ana hospital, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium, Philippine Heart Center, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, Rizal Medical Center and Las Pinas General Hospital.
