Kids caught distributing Imee Marcos sample ballots on election day

MANILA, Philippines — Leaflets of senatorial candidate Imee Marcos are distributed by minors in Maysilo, Malabon, on the afternoon of election day.

Separate incidents of the distribution of fake sample ballots bearing her name has been reported over the last three days including in Ilocos Norte, her hometown, and Mindanao as well. 

Such distribution of paraphernalia on voting day is prohibited under the Fair Elections Act by the Commission of Elections. 

Comelec has deemed it unlawful for any person, political party, or associations of persons to engage in partisan political activity during Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the eve of election day, and on the election day itself.

Over the years, the outgoing Ilocos Norte governor has been involved in numerous political allegations.

Last July, the Commission on Audit found Ilocos Norte having hundred millions-worth of dubious transactions and documents. 

Marcos also repeatedly claimed she is a Princeton graduate in her official Facebook account and curriculum vitae submitted during her stint at the House of Representatives.

The Daily Princetonian, an independent newspaper of Princeton University, clarified in February that the Senate bet was never awarded a degree from the university. — Blanch Marie Ancla
