PNP hunting man behind ‘Totoong Narco List’
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is tracking down the man behind the “Totoong Narco List” videos, which linked people close to President Duterte to the illegal drug trade.
While no formal complaint has been filed with the police, PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde said they would still be looking for the man behind the videos.
Albayalde ordered the anti-cybercrime group (ACG) to investigate and establish the person’s identity.
The man behind the videos, who identified himself as “Bikoy,” accused presidential son Paolo Duterte, his brother-in-law Manases Carpio and former special assistant to the president and senatorial candidate Christopher Go of earning millions from the illegal drug trade.
Albayalde warned Bikoy that he could face cyber libel charges for violation of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
Albayalde, who admitted seeing Bikoy’s first video, said the allegations against the members of the Duterte family and the President’s associate are self-serving.
He questioned the timing of the release of the videos during the campaign period for the midterm elections.
Albayalde downplayed Bikoy’s allegations linking the younger Duterte and Go to drug syndicates through the supposed dragon tattoos on their bodies.
He said there is nothing wrong if people want to have tattoos.
