Miss Universe 2017 to visit Phl

MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is coming to the Philippines, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) announced yesterday.
Nel-Peters will be joined by Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere and some of this year’s contestants, the organization said in a post in its official Instagram account.
“They’re looking forward to the incredible hospitality of Department of Tourism-Philippines @tourism_phl, seeing some of the 7,107 Islands, being a part of DOT’s Women Of Significance Gala Night, and the #MissUniverse Fashion Show,” the MUO said.
Nel-Peters and Mittenaere will be walking in a Miss Universe fashion show sponsored by FrontRow Enterprise Philippines.
No particular date was mentioned as to when the beauty queens are flying to Manila.
The Department of Tourism has yet to issue a statement regarding their visit.
Nel-Peters, who hails from South Africa, was crowned as this year’s Miss Universe last Nov. 26 in Las Vegas.
Colombia’s Laura Gonzalez placed first runner-up, while Jamaica’s Davina Bennett was named second runner-up.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was one of the judges of this year’s edition of the pageant.
