Noy swears in Iriberri, 52 other newly promoted generals

MANILA, Philippines - Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Gen. Hernando Iriberri and 52 other newly promoted generals and flag officers of the military took their oaths of office before President Aquino yesterday.

Among the high-ranking officials who joined Iriberri were Major Generals Ricardo Visaya, Western Mindanao Command chief; Eduardo Año, Philippine Army chief; and Romeo Tanalgo, Philippine Marines commandant, who were promoted to lieutenant general, and Rear Admiral Caesar Taccad, Philippine Navy chief, who was promoted to vice admiral.

Promoted to major general and rear admiral were Brig. Gen. Edmundo Pangilinan, Commodore Aurelio Rabusa Jr., Brigadier Generals Galileo Gerard Kintanar Jr., Arnold Quiapo, Conrado Parra Jr., Gerardo Barrientos Jr., Rolando Picar, Angelito de Leon, Alexander Balutan, Andre Costales, Rodolfo Santiago and Elmer Pabale.

Promoted to brigadier general and commodore were Captain Elson Aguilar, Colonels Cornelio Pelaez, Florentino Rasco, Danilo Chad Isleta, Emmanuel Salamat, Capt. Ernesto Enriquez, Colonels Francisco Carada, Nicolas Parilla, Joel Celino, Laurcris Tumanda, Frederick Evans Ramos, Librado Moog, Capt. Virme Torralba, Colonels Alan Arrojado, Leoncio Cirunay Jr., Emigdio Guevara Jr., Arleen Gorreon, Rafael Sera Jose, Demy Tejares, Rhoderick Parayno, Raul Farnacio, Capt. Jande Francisco, Colonels Maximo Ballesteros and Romeo de la Cruz, Captains Gaudencio Collado Jr. and Robert Empedrad, Col. Avin Parreno, Capt. Rene Medina, Colonels Diosdado Respecio, Archimedes Viaje, Harold Cabreros, Noel Clement,  Alvin Francis Javier and Ronnie Evangelista.

Those who failed to attend the ceremony were Lt. Gen. Edgar Fallorina and Brig. Gen. Guillermo Molina Jr.
