MANILA, Philippines - The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Tuesday reported that Typhoon "Lando" (international name Koppu) left 18 persons dead, 16 hurt and one missing.

The cost of damage to agriculture is estimated at P5.3 billion while damage to infrastructure reached P520,000. The agency said that this cost is still expected to increase.

A total of 88 road sections are impassable due to floods and landslides caused by the tropical storm. The NDRRMC reported 635 incidents of flooding.

The agency earlier reported that 5,603 families or 70,503 persons are being housed in 376 evacuation centers in Luzon while 27,142 families or 132,621 persons stay outside evacuation centers.

Qurino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Kalinga and Mt. Province are still experiencing power outages due to the onslaught of Lando.
