Bongbong on next Senate president: Nothing definite yet

Christina Mendez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - It’s too early to tell who the next Senate president will be as the chamber still has to work out ways to avert possible conflict over distribution of committee chairmanships, Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said yesterday.

Marcos, a member of the Nacionalista Party (NP), said that while his party is in a coalition with the ruling Liberal Party (LP) which is rooting for Sen. Franklin Drilon as Senate president, each senator has his or her own position on the matter.

“Although the Nacionalista Party has a position, of course every single senator has his own position, so that is being discussed simultaneously.
