Noy didn't watch Shalani TV debut

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino was unable to watch the debut of his former girlfriend Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad on television.

“Was not able to,” Mr. Aquino said in a text message yesterday to reporters.

Soledad made her first appearance as co-host of comedian Willie Revillame in the TV5 show “Willing Willie” on Monday night.

On Monday, the President was asked if he would watch Soledad that night. His reply indicated he would likely miss the show. 

“It depends on how much material I will be given tonight (Monday night) to study and I only have two days to finish all of the preparations,” he said, referring to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit and other meetings that he will attend in Japan.

The President is leaving tomorrow for Yokohama and will be there until Monday.

“So I have two days of work left here. I’m going to Cebu for the launching of a ship (today), the inauguration of a hotel which would help our tourism campaign. Then, in the afternoon, I have to study for all the APEC discussions, so we’re really pressed for (time) this week. Even our local political concerns, there are so many who are asking for appointments before I leave, and we’re really quite hard pressed to accommodate all of them,” Mr. Aquino said.

Mr. Aquino said he wished Soledad well in her new career and hoped she would find fulfillment and true happiness in it.
