MANILA, Philippines -  G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI), the mobile commerce subsidiary of Globe Telecom, recently partnered with SM Cinema to enable moviegoers to buy SM Cinema tickets on-line and pay via GCASH.

The partnership between GCASH and SM Cinema, the largest local chain of movie theaters in the Philippines, is making the process of buying tickets easy for Filipinos. With the SM Cinema-GCASH tie-up, moviegoers will be able to purchase tickets from the SM Cinema website and redeem the tickets at the cinemas using their mobile phones in the comfort of their homes, offices, or wherever they may be. They can treat their loved ones to a movie by sending the eTicket to their relatives or friends so that they may claim and use the tickets for themselves.

Log on to www.smcinema.com, create an account, purchase tickets and choose the “Via GCASH” payment option. Once the tickets are purchased, customers will be given a choice of printing the e-mail verification of ticket purchase, or receiving an SMS (eTicket) which contains a “bCODE,” is compatible with any kind of mobile phone. Moviegoers simply have to scan their mobile phones’ screens on the bCode machines located at cinema lobbies to get movie tickets.
