4 killed in landslide in Aurora

MANILA, Philippines  (Xinhua) - Three children and their mother were killed following a landslide which buried their house in Casiguran town in the northern Philippine province of Aurora on Wednesday night, a senior government official said today.

Office of Civil Defense-Central Luzon director Josefina Timoteo said the landslide was triggered by heavy rains.

"The landslide buried the house with the three children and their mother inside," Timoteo said.

The Philippine weather agency said heavy rains were induced by the northeast monsoon affecting the northern part of the country.
