Gaisano Capital trounces Lion Tiger

Gabby G. Malagar - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Rookie guard Christian Tamparong scored all his 15 points from the 3-point land, while Fil-Am mainstay Kido Cabrera chipped in a dozen points as the Gaisano Capital South-UC Webmasters walloped the Lion Tiger-USPF Panthers, 86-74, in the Enervon CESAFI Partner's Cup men's basketball tournament last Saturday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Cameroonian recruit Arnud Noah also scattered 12 points, while Jan Michael Auditor and Michael Smith chalked up 21 points combined for Gaisano Capital South, which finished second at the end of the first round of elimination with a 4-1 win-loss record.

Gaisano Capital had actually no other way to run their offense except to trade shots from the outside to offset their size deficiency.

Lion Tiger sparingly fought against Gaisano through the final five minutes of the contest when Art Camello completed a three-point play against Gaisano's Jonas Misa to tie the count at 68-all.

It was the back-to-back treys of Joseph Sedurifa that somehow kept Lion Tiger close late in the fourth quarter, but could not hold on his fire down the homestretch. He had 12 points to pace Lion Tiger. Rookie guard Matt Batucan tossed in 10 points, but couldn't make any difference as they suffered their fourth loss against a solitary victory.
