Rochelle Tan accepts invite to be part of Phl Team

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's triathlon queen Rochelle Tan has finally accepted the invitation to form part of the Philippine Undcer-23 squad.

With this development, Tan is expected to report to Subic for a training camp this weekend. The camp will serve as the final preparation of the Phl bets for the upcoming K-Swiss ITU Subic Bay International Triathlon (SUBIT) on May 5-6 at the Subic Bay Freeport.

In a press release by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP), Tan will be fielded in the junior sprint 16-19 category.

Davao’s Mary Pauline Fornea is expected to give Tan a run for her money in the said age-group. In the boys division, it will be a four-way battle among Allen Santiago, Marc Altura, Javier Ocampo and Kurt Cabanilla.

Aside from Tan, rising Cebuano triathlete Justin Chiongbian will also showcase his wares in the mini-sprint 13-15 class. (FREEMAN)
