- Nimrod NL Quiñones -

CEBU, Philippines - Benjie Hortelano and his daughter Joan continue to hold on to the lead after two days of action in the 12th View Invitational at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

The second half of the 200-team field played their opening round of this annual member-guest tournament yesterday. The cut-off time for the scores reported was 4 p.m.

The father and daughter tandem played last Thursday, but their total score of 76 points in the Modified Stableford Scoring System remained as the best for the opening round. The two each made 38 points.

The scoring format gives six points equivalent to a four-under-par for the hole, five for three-under-par, four for two-under-par, three for one-under-par, two for par, and one for one-over-par.

The tandem of lawyer Tito Pintor and Dr. Sim Guinocor are one point back with 75 points shooting 40 and 35 points respectively.

At third is the team of club director and tournament chairman Inting Go (38) and Oscar Cornelio (35) with 73 points.

AVGCC vice president Richard Christopher Aznar (37) and Rey Villar (34) are tied for the fourth spot overall with the duo of Benedict Uy (40) and Edwin Morales (31).

Five teams turned in opening rounds of 70 points. These are Conrado Abarintos (36) and Emmanuel Tesaluna (34), Kim Kwang Seok (34) and Hwag Kyu Buk (36), Peter Po II (36) and Edong Larrazabal (34), Glenn Sebastian (31) and Alvin Lomondaya (39), and John Uy (33) and Emmanuel Cruz (37).

The teams will still be classified under three handicap categories. The classifications will be made by dividing the field into three equal groups based on the average handicap of the team members.
