Arcilla clobbers Tierro in Mandaue tennis

CEBU, Philippines - Johnny Arcilla lived up to expectations as he scored a twinkill in the 3rd Mayor Jonas Cortes Tennis Cup at the Mandaue City Tennis Club yesterday.

Arcilla showed why he’s the country’s best as he clobbered chief rival Patrick John “PJ” Tierro, 6-4, 6-0 in their championship match.

Arcilla completely ruled the entire battle, which lasted for less than an hour.

Moments later, Arcilla and Tierro set aside their rivalry to play in the doubles event. As expected, they easily demolished the tandem of Ralph Kevin Barte and Gilbert Anasta, 6-2, 6-1 to take home the crown. – THE FREEMAN
