Baluran, Ybañez produce more golds for TCC

CEBU, Philippines – Irin Baluran and Ernesto Ybañez gave Team Cebu City another reason to celebrate as they collected two more golds in the 2009 Milo-National Open Track and Field Championships yesterday at the Don Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Aside from Baluran and Ybañez’s golden performances, TCC also got a silver in the relay event and two bronzes in the middle and long distance run.

Overall, the Cebuano bets now has a total of four golds, one silver, and four bronzes.

After topping the long jump contest, Baluran delivered her second gold in the triple jump with a distance of 11.87 meters. Ditto with Ybañez after leaping to a distance of 11.94m.

The team of Lindley Fran Navaja, Dharl Pitogo,Ariel Dayondon and Marc Daven Agdasiw, on the other hand, settled for a silver in the 4 x 100m relay.

Sheena Gacayan also made her presence felt by handing a bronze in the 800m run as well as Vlessica Jagna, who placed third in the 5, 000m run. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
