Carcel tops 2nd leg of RP karting series
CEBU, Philippines – Promising Cebuano go-kart racer Tonyo Carcel bounced back from a so-so debut in the formula SL with a convincing victory during the second leg of the 2009 Philippine Karting Super Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit the other day.
Tonyo Carcel made sure not to be outsmarted again for the top spot in all three heats under the novice class.
Carcel highlighted his impressive performance by logging the fastest lap time in one minute and 26.11 seconds.
“Tonyo is back on track with his winning ways,” says Carcel’s proud father Neil via text message.
Tonyo Carcel was trailed by fellow Cebuano Jette Calderon.
Tonyo’s sister Kali was not left behind as she came up with a runner-up finish under the mini ROK division. She finished behind Christian Gaddi.
