CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu City government is preparing another round of citywide cleanup challenge that will take place on December 3, 2022.

The Coastal Management Task Force (CMTF) is expecting thousands of participants to clean the various rivers as well as the coastal areas of the city.

Most of the volunteers come from City Hall offices, barangays, various organizations, private companies, civic and religious groups and others.

Some of the areas identified for the cleanup drive include Guadalupe River, Carreta, Mahiga, Tinago Tejero Bridge-Kamputhaw River, T. Padilla Market - Kamputhaw Bridge, Ermita Coast, Pasil Coast, SRP Tower, Il Corso Coast, Bulacao Upriver, among others.

The City Engineering Office, Department of General Services, and Department of Public Works and Highways have prepared the equipment and dump trucks for the loading of garbage.

Its main goal is to protect the environment which is one of the government’s hot campaigns.

The regular cleanup drive is in accordance with the City Ordinance 1988.

Also scheduled to participate in the event are various youth organizations in the city.

This is part of the activities included in the list for the Youth Bayanihan program.

The head of the Cebu City Youth Development Commission, Paolo Saberon, has already said that Youth Bayanihan shows love and care of the youth to their homeland.

Nearly 50 youth organizations in various areas of the city are currently registered with the CCYDC. — GMR (FREEMAN)
