SKF head asks non-performing officials to resign
SKF president Jessica Resch has stern appeal to her colleagues to better resign if the SK officials cannot act on their duties especially the conduct of regular meetings.

CEBU, Philippines —  The office of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation in Cebu City has reminded its members in all barangays to act on mandate and perform their responsibilities to their constituents.

SKF president Jessica Resch has stern appeal to her colleagues to better resign if the SK officials cannot act on their duties especially the conduct of regular meetings.

“Naay uban nga wala na mag-session, dili gyud na pwede,” said Resch.

To give due process, the office of the SKF will send a letter to the concerned parties to get their explanations.

Failure to act will be a ground for disciplinary actions like suspension.

“Pirme nato sila ipatawag, para paminawon nato ang ilang side pud. If dili gyud sila magpakita, ato i-recommend ang ilang names ngadto sa Sangguniang Panlungsod alang sa possible nga suspension,” Resch said.

Resch received reports that SK officials in around 10 barangays are not functioning as youth officials.

Meanwhile, Resch praises SK officials who have carried out projects that are meant to promote the interests and welfare of the youth.

“Naay uban nanghatag na og relief goods sa mga affected sa pandemic, duna puy nanghatag og health kits,” according to Resch.

The SK has its own budget representing 10 percent of the total annual appropriations in each barangay.

Other projects that some SK officials have engaged into include the setting up of study center for distance learning students.

The facility has strong wi-fi connections so it is conducive for individuals who are taking online classes.

SKF-Cebu City has a regular trainings and activities to give the SK officials a direct role in shaping youth programs. — GMR (FREEMAN)
