Motorcycle hits trisikad, 1 killed, 2 others hurt

CEBU, Philippines- A man died while his wife and daughter were injured after the trisikad he was driving was hit by a motorcycle in Barangay Talisay, Santa Fe, Bantayan Island on Friday.

Luis Giducos, 47, of Barangay Okoy succumbed to body and head injuries while he was being transported to a hospital in Cebu City by barge.

His wife Amelita, 46, and 19-year-old daughter Gretchen suffered minor injuries.

Motorcycle driver Ryan Almocera, 27, was held in police custody pending investigation. He also failed to show a driver’s license, according to the police.

Reports showed that the victims came from their residence and were heading to Barangay Poblacion around 6 p.m. when the trisikad Luis was driving was hit by Almocera’s motorcycle.

Luis was rushed to Bantayan District Hospital but the attending physician advised that he be transferred to Cebu City.

The victim died around 11 p.m. while he was being transported to the city.

Dumanjug accident

In another accident, two minors were wounded after a multicab and a motorcycle figured in an accident on Saturday in Barangay Tapon, Dumanjug town.

Victims Jacob Casipong, 16, was brought to Barili District Hospital while Junray Zozobrado, 10, to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Reports showed that Zozobrado’s father Reynaldo was driving a multicab with Junray seated at the passenger’s seat and was maneuvering a left turn to get inside their residence when Casipong, who was driving a motorcycle, accidentally hit the passenger side of the multicab.  Both victims are being treated at the hospital.  (FREEMAN)
