CEBU, Philippines - Eduardo Graham Gonzalez was officially appointed as the Honorary Consul of Mexico for Cebu last night in a ceremony at the Manila Room of the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.

Gonzalez’ appointment was considered a milestone in the relationship between Mexico and the Philippines, which dates back to the active days of the Galleon Trade.

Gonzalez was appointed by Mexican Ambassador H.E. Tomas Javier Calvillo Unna.

Born in Cebu, Gonzalez graduated from De la Salle University in Manila in 1967 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Well versed in the various disciplines involving ships and the shipping industry, Gonzalez’ appointment is both embraced by Mexico and the Philippines. — (FREEMAN)
