2 more cops sacked from post due to "bad" behavior

- Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja -

CEBU, Philippines - Owing to persistent negative feedback about them, two policemen were removed from their posts and transferred to other positions effective yesterday.

Booted out of their posts were Insp. Wilfredo Giducos of the Tudela Police Station and Sr. Insp. Rodrigo Giangan of the Dumanjug police.

Acting Provincial Police Director Sr. Supt. Erson Digal said he had enough of text messages saying Giducos is always drunk. Digal said Giducos has been arrested by members of the Bogo City Anti-Crime Task Force when he was found drunk along the road when he was still chief of the Tabogon Police.

“Ang alcoholic nga tawo dili angay tagaan og position as chief of police because you will set an example. Bahala’g muinom basta diha lang sa balay or sa area na dili ka ikasaway,” Digal said.

This reportedly made him decide to relieve Giducos and Giangan who allegedly has been complacent with his duties by failing to submit progress reports on three successive shooting cases in his area of jurisdiction.

Giducos was transferred to the Naga Police Station while Giangan has been designated as deputy chief of the CPPO Administration Section.

Replacing Giducos as Tudela police chief is Insp. Edward Sanchez from the CPPO Operations Section while Insp. Roland Aliser of the Provincial Intelligence Division replaces Giangan as the new OIC of the Dumanjug Police.

In an interview with reporters yesterday, Giducos said the allegations against him are all fabricated just to malign his image. He, however, will accept his new position because it is part of the job.

Giangan, on the other hand, insisted he has been looking into his cases, but will also just follow orders.

Both Aliser and Sanchez said they will do their best to address the concerns in their new areas of responsibilities and will improve the peace and order situations thereat.

Just last Wednesday, Digal also relieved Samboan Police Chief Audie Pelayo from service while the latter undergoes investigation for allegedly being drunk in an illegal cockfight locally known as “tigbakay.”

Also last week, Supt. Renato Malazarte was also relieved from his post in Carcar City owing to several unresolved cases.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
