Woman, 2 men held for drugs

CEBU, Philippines - The police arrested Wednesday night a woman and two men in a buy-bust drug operation in Lapu-Lapu City.

Arrested in sitio Ylaya, barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City by the intelligence section of the Lapu-Lapu City led by SPO1 Nonilon Etonilo Jr. were Eduardo Lato, 49, Gloria Bonghanoy, 47, and Robie Flores-Bonghanoy, 27.

The suspects are related to one another by blood.

The police said the suspects had long been placed under surveillance following reports of drug dealing.

Seized from Lato were three transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu. The police also seized suspected shabu from Gloria and Robie.

In an interview with reporters, Gloria said she earns her living by peddling illegal drugs.

“Wala ko’y laing panginabuhian hinungdan nga napugos ko sa pagpamaligya og drugas,” Gloria said, adding that she was already detained before for the same offense.

The suspects will be charged with violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
