CPPO to get new chief after ASEAN Summit

-
The Cebu Provincial Police Office will be having a new director after the 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.

S/Supt. Carmelo Valmoria, chief of the Regional Operations and Plans Division of the Police Regional Office-7, will now be the acting CPPO director replacing S/Supt. Vicente Loot.

Loot will be assigned at the Regional Headquarters Service Group-7 after serving as CPPO director for almost two years. Valmoria's replacement as ROPD chief has yet to be named.

PRO-7 director, C/Supt. Silverio Alarcio Jr., yesterday told reporters that the turnover of command was already done but was not yet made public. However, the said two police officials will assume their posts only after the ASEAN Summit.

Valmoria, a three-time member of the United Nations PeaceKeeping Force, has been assigned in different places including Cambodia, Kosovo, and Somalia, Alarcio said.

He and Loot were classmates in the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1982.

Alarcio said the two were not yet pulled out from their present posts since they are still doing their respective tasks related to the summit. Loot is supervising the Task Force Mactan while Valmoria is tasked to regional operations.

Alarcio said that the said movement was a directive from Camp Crame, but they will also consult with Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia before the finality.

Meanwhile, S/Supt Edgardo Ingking of the Regional Headquarters Service Group will also replace the Bohol Provincial Office director, S/Supt. Arthuro Evangelista as officer-in-charge. Evangelista will be reassigned to the RHSG. - Norvie S. Misa
