PEOPLE PLACES - Flor Ynclino - The Freeman

Cebu, Philippines —The Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotels team recently came to Cebu to meet with the local press. This has become an annual visit for the past four years, where the team comes to Manila, Cebu and Davao to give updates on their property and keep in touch with the Filipino Media.

This year, their team comprised of Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotels general manager Dalip Singh, director of communications Samantha Poon, and Wharf Estates’ assistant general manager for Strategic Marketing Karen Tam.

Dalip Singh joined Marco Polo as hotel manager in December 2016 for the three cluster properties located on the prestigious Canton Road – Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Gateway Hotel, Prince Hotel – and was promoted to general manager for Marco Polo Hotels-Hong Kong in December 2017. He is a seasoned hotelier with more than two decades of experience, holding senior management positions with reputable hotel groups including The Ritz Carlton and Dusit Hotels.

Samantha Poon also gave updates on the hotel such as the renovation of Prince Hotel, their Beauty and the Bees Suite stay featuring Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria amenities, and their signature Marco Polo German Beirfest event.

The press dinner was held at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu’s Blu Bar and Grill where Chef Juanito Abangan together with his team of culinary experts prepared a gastronomic seven course French dinner with wine pairing. It truly was a night for reconnecting and making new friends. Select media guests won special raffle prizes, but everybody went home with a gift certificate for a stay at the Hong Kong property.
