The hero in you

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  With the recent flooding incident that happened in Manila, we couldn’t help but be concerned of the victims who are now homeless, families are confined in evacuation centers; kids are sick with flu, cough and colds, and other respiratory diseases.

The Bible teaches us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. The best way in showing our love to them is by helping them in any way we can. Here are some suggestions from our readers on what to do in order to help the flood victims – practical help that the young ones could offer in these trying times:

“Donate used clothing – the decent ones that still can be worn, not with holes!” – Luis del Carmen, Grade IV

“I’ll tell Mama and Papa to donate money to legitimate organizations that help the flood victims.” – Angela Grace Rojo, Grade VI

“I’ll share my baon with the kids. I’ll spare some amount to buy food for them and hand it to The FREEMAN Foundation and other organizations helping these victims.” – Raphson Vincent de Guia, Grade V

“I will tell my father who is a doctor to give them free medicines.”  — Gabrielle Sinco, Grade II

“Instead of giving them instant noodles, I’ll give them canned tuna with an easy-to-open lid. It’s healthy! – Grace Elizabeth Dandan, Grade V

“Water is life so I’ll give them bottled water.” – Christian Floyd Ang, Grade II

“I will break my coin bank and buy pillows and blankets. I will tell my Mama to help me shop.” – Andrea Krisna Reyes, Grade III

“I will donate my toys to those kids for them to be happy.” – Marie Elaine Juco, Grade II

“I will pray for them. I will ask Mommy, Daddy and my ates to give them food.” – Matthew Chris Liu, Grade II

You can be a modern day hero even in your own little ways. Your “little” help goes a long way. Way to go, kids!
