The art of expressing

CEBU, Philippines - Every person has the freedom of expressing one’s self, it may be done through speech, written or in action. People who are confident enough to express their feelings would do the action or the verbal type of expressing. But there are people who would prefer writing rather than aggressively express what they feel. These are the common ways on how people express themselves.

There are actually many other ways of expressing one’s self, dressing up is another way. You dress up the way you feel. If you feel like being yourself, you wear casual clothes or wear t-shirts and shorts. If you’re going to a formal event or a party, you wear a formal attire. You dress up the way you feel or the way you want to be perceived by society.

Do you know that tattoo or body painting is also a way of self expression? It may be just placed on your body but it also tells what you want and what you feel. If you’re in love, you would love to place the name or portrait of your girlfriend or boyfriend on your body. And if you feel like showing the world who you are, you would like to put anything on your body that represents you.

Some people have used a dragon or tribal tattoos in symbolizing their group, signifying that you belong to a certain group or a clan. If you want to join or be a part of a certain group, you must have the tattoo.

They’ve gone through patience and pain, sitting or lying for hours and feeling the needle penetrating through their skin, injecting the ink into the area which would create a beautiful sort of design.

You have the freedom to customize your tattoos. Cherry blossom and roses are usually the image picked by the nature lover, heart shapes or cupids for couples and zodiac signs are also one of the common tattoos people want to have.

These people endure temporary pain for a lifetime of body art. Following the image they give, the tattoo artist creates that image on the body. The artist respect every decision made. From deciding what image you want and to where you want to put that image on your body.

Neck, breast, arms, legs or at the back portion of your shoulder, wherever you want to place the tattoo, it symbolizes you. It’s a life long body art which is expressing the inner you. It may be an indirect expression but it tells what and who you are.
