CEBU, Philippines - Ty—probably, middle of April this year, arriving from her fashion design study at London’s Central St. Martins—our hearts have already leaped for joy on the good news she’s bringing in this summer.

“I have always believed that no matter what size you are in, you can wear anything as long as it complements your body in the right way,” she says on her latest line of swimwear. Completing the course Fashion Design, Marketing, and Branding, she will soon be an alumna of the institution where her icons John Galliano and the late Alexander McQueen schooled.

“These one-piece swimsuits are for the conscious, like the new moms who are not yet confident to go back to their two-piece bikinis but still want to be stylish,” Ty goes on. “For those who want to wear swimsuits but are conscious about their legs, they can always wear a sheer cover up or skirt over them, same with those who are too keen on showing their arms. We also custom make sheer cover-ups perfect for this summer in a variety of colors.”

Even if you had a full pasta lunch (like what the models did at Aqua during the production), you still can slip into any of these since each is sewn in stretchable fabric, drafted to flaunt your body’s assets. Or better yet, Ty has created means of creating shields against unsightly bulges through bias tape strips, color blocking, and classic neckline cuts. Certainly, a lady designer knows the path to instant beauty.

“My inspiration behind the lace swimsuits is actually lacy lingerie. In my opinion, lace is one of the sexiest fabrics ever made. Wear these to the beach where you can be at your sexiest—and it’s like wearing lingerie in public ‘legally’. When you wear something that is a perfect cut for your body shape with the right fabric, expect all eyes to be on you, in a good way of course,” she says.

Either you’re on for the new color combination (tangerine on beige) or the new romanticism (the pink number with lace-wrapped rings on the bust), you’re eyes would no longer starve for beauty.

Go ahead, plunge and lounge. Someone has already stood for you.  “Showing skin doesn’t automatically make you sexy,” Ty posts in our last Internet chat.

Are we seeing a smile on your face now? (FREEMAN)
