Working Experience

CEBU, Philippines - I was inquisitive to browse through the endless job listings posted in both the local and national newspaper classified ads as well as searching online for job websites. It made me wonder how one can obtain all the specified requirements needed for an application without having the slightest work experience!

How can you fulfill a job description? You can start by getting trained in simple part time jobs, volunteering or having work placements that your school might be able to organize for you. It’s best to start as early as possible and ignore feeling embarrassed about trying to experience what it’s like out there in the real world.

It is a known fact that it is difficult to find a well paying job but by having work experience in relation to what you’d like to pursue might be of help to you. At most times, starting from scratch could easily get you further in life whether you are an employer or employee.

The downside is having too many distractions, but by focusing on important matters ahead may not as difficult as it may sound, it is only a matter of putting some effort into it and being able to divide your time wisely.

I would consider work experience to be highly important. Try to think of yourself as an employer who is in need of hiring staff, would you honestly choose to hire someone who hasn’t got the slightest clue on what its like to really work full-time? It is also important to be a good boss, I’d find it very hard to believe that anyone can run a company well enough without the knowledge to do so. To top it off, it will also create a better environment in this give and take relationship with yourself and others.

I strongly believe that money does not buy everything. Despite who and what you are and no matter how much or how little you have, it is you as a person that can make yourself become who you want to be. Work yourself up, grab every available opportunity and let good things come running your way!
