2nd PDA Visayas National Convention, a success!

CEBU, Philippines – The Philippine Dental Association had a successful convention last May 16-18 at the McArthur Park Beach Resort in Candahug, Palo, Leyte.

Their theme was “Taking Philippine Dentistry to the Next Level.”

This was attended by numerous government and private dental practitioners from different regions.

Keynote speakers were Leyte Vice-Gov. Mimiette Bagulaya and Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone represented by his chief of staff Atty. Byron Suyot.

In attendance were Dr. Sheila Nacua (President, Cebu Dental Society), Dr. Kevin Sulivan, Dr. Lolita Itulip (President, Aklan Dental), Dr. Ma. Felisol Salmon (President, Iloilo Dental), Dr. Romeo Dalisay Jr. (President, Antique Dental), Dr. Erwin Into (President, Ormoc), Dr. Marites Villarico, Dr. Renato Lustre (President, Bohol), Dr. Marilee Tutaan (President, Leyte), Dr. Vivian Virata, Dr. Jose Luis Natavio (President, Mandaue), Dr. Minda Regalado (President Negros Oriental), Dr. Stephen Almonte, Dr. Julius Duarte (President, Southern Leyte), Dr. Omega Bumales (President, Capiz), Dr. Rolando Solidon, (past president), Dr. Angelina So (past president), Dr. Jesus Tumaneng (past president and Chair of Scientific Sessions), Dr. Virgie Bañezm Dr. Levi Lee, Dr. Filpa de la Cruz, Dr. Jose Mari Chua (President, Negros Occidental), Dr. Victor Torres, Dr. Fe Saciolo (President, Biliran), Dr. Digna Uy, Dr. Ernita Pasag Palileo (past president) and many more.

Officers of PDA 2009 are: Dr. Leo Gerald de Castro – president; Dr. Roberto Tajonera – executive vice president; Dr. Asteria Campanero – gen. chairman; Dr. Rosario Aranas – ESDC president; Dr. Ofelia Buna – secretary general; Dr. Aldona Baldano Borja – ESDC, president-elect.

Bro. Odon Sabarre, artist-in-residence of Region 8, together with his students, provided the cultural presentation.

Sabarre was awarded a Plaque of Appreciation given by PDA President Leo Gerald de Castro, Dr. Rosario Aranas, host president; Dr. Aster Campanero and Dr. Ofelia Buna in recognition of his invaluable services rendered which made the 2nd PDA Visayas National Convention a success.
